WAAC are founded. Originally an acronym for the Western Australian AIDS Council they later change their name to be simply WAAC. WAAC formed after starting as a HCIS/CAMP Health subcommittee in response to the rapidly growing community need for support and information related to HIV/AIDS.
HCIS granted Government funds to compile a resource book on homosexuality.
First HCIS Counsellors in-service training session on HIV as well as “AIDS Bulletins” written and distributed to Perth gay venues.
