Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving the financial growth and sustainability of Living Proud through strategic grants, fundraising, partnerships, fee-for-service propositions and capacity-building initiatives. This role will oversee key revenue generating areas including training development and delivery, events and fundraising, volunteer coordination, memberships and grants and tenders.

About you

Working closely with the CEO, you will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in securing funding, building partnerships, and managing teams. Highly organised, proactive, and adaptable, you possess excellent communication skills and thrive in networking and engaging stakeholders. Your creativity and innovation shine in fundraising and business development initiatives.

You will also excel in developing, expanding, and overseeing training programs, ideally with experience in CRM systems like Salesforce. As a passionate and skilled professional, you care deeply about the issues facing the LGBTIQA+SB community and are driven to make a difference. You are a values-driven leader who contributes to a positive and respectful culture.

Executive Assistant to the CEO

About the role

As Executive Assistant, you’ll be the central point of coordination for the CEO’s activities, ensuring smooth operations across the organisation. You’ll also support the Board, manage office functions, and help maintain a positive, respectful and inclusive workplace culture.

  • Hours: Full-time
  • Contract: 1-year with potential to extend
  • Salary: SACS WA Level 5.1 + salary packaging

Key responsibilities

  • Managing the CEO’s calendar, correspondence, travel, and meeting preparation.
  • Supporting Board and management team meetings, including agendas, minutes, and follow-ups.
  • Coordinating office operations, procurement, and facilities.
  • Assisting with financial reporting, expense tracking, and compliance.
  • Supporting organisational social media and communications.

About you

Essential criteria

  • Extensive experience working with senior management in an Executive Assistant capacity, preferably at CEO level.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and effectively adapt to competing priorities.
  • Experience in dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
  • A well-defined ability to take the initiative, problem solve and effectively manage stakeholder expectations.
  • A high level of proficiency using Microsoft Office (including MS Teams, Outlook, Excel and Word).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Excellent time management and diary management skills.
  • The ability to work autonomously with limited supervision.
  • A profound commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Lived experience as part of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer, Asexual, Sistergirl, Brotherboy + (LGBTIQA+SB) community.[Living Proud has an exemption under Equal Employment].

  • Experience working within a not-for-profit organisation.

Volunteer Coordinator (Paid Role)

About the role

As Volunteer Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for the full lifecycle of volunteer engagement—from recruitment and onboarding to training, supervision, and evaluation. You’ll work closely with the Services Manager to support peer volunteers and with the Events & Fundraising Officer to ensure our events are well-resourced and impactful.

  • Location: West Perth, WA
  • Hours: Part Time, 3 days/week (0.6 FTE / 45.6 hours per fortnight)
  • Contract: 1-year with potential to extend
  • Salary: SACS WA Level 5.1 + salary packaging

Key responsibilities include

  • Designing and delivering a vibrant, inclusive volunteer program.
  • Recruiting, training, and mentoring volunteers.
  • Coordinating volunteer involvement in events and services.
  • Building partnerships with businesses, universities, and community groups.
  • Managing volunteer budgets and reporting.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal, safety, and organisational standards.

About you

You’re a people-person with a passion for community and a talent for building strong, inclusive teams. You bring creativity, structure, and warmth to your work, and you’re motivated by helping others connect and contribute.

Essential criteria

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in volunteer coordination or a related field.
  • Proven ability to grow and manage volunteer programs.
  • Strong community engagement and communication skills.
  • Understanding of LGBTIQA+SB issues and lived experience is highly valued.
  • Excellent organisational, mentoring, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in social media and digital tools.

Desirable criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.
  • Experience in HR, recruitment, or event management.
  • Previous work in a not-for-profit setting.

Requirements

  • Current Working with Children Check
  • National Police Certificate
  • Valid Australian work rights and driver’s licence
