The Queer & Accessible project is working with LGBTIQA+SB events, venues and safe spaces, offering practical assistance, financial support and advice as well as promoting accessible events to the LGBTIQS+SB and disability communities.
Our Project Officers are both LGBTIQA+SB people with disability and work closely with a lived experience panel to deliver the Q&A project.
During PrideFEST 2021 the Q&A Project worked with PrideWA and other groups, supporting their events to be more accessible through providing Auslan interpreters, quiet space, audio description and accessibility maps.
LGBTIQ+ people with disability are invited to steer the direction of the project through participating in consultations, completing an online survey or contacting us directly.

The Q&A Project is offering training on disability and accessibility, sourced from established training providers, for LGBTIQ+ community groups, venues and for interested community members.
Training starts in June 2022 and topics include: engaging with disability, online accessibility, deafness awareness, inclusion in sport and recreation and disability awareness. Click here to find out more and to register
LGBTIQ+ groups and venues are also invited to engage with the project to discuss ways to make their events more accessible, and seek assistance to implement accessibility initiatives.
